Study & Learning

Man reading and concentrating, representing study, learning and focused attention

Learning can be exciting, but sometimes getting your brain to focus can feel like hard work.

You may know you’re capable…but struggle to get the best out of yourself when it’s time to study.

It can be frustrating when the effort you put in doesn’t seem to match what you get back!

NeurOptimal®, the neurofeedback system we supply, works with your brain rather than trying to tell it what to do.

It isn’t about pushing yourself harder or changing the way you naturally learn.

During a session, NeurOptimal® simply offers your brain information it didn’t have before via an interruption to music.

Then your brain makes any adjustments it wants to make. It is in control of the whole process.

This can help you feel calmer, clearer and more ready to focus when it matters.

So you remain uniquely you…just hopefully better able to get the most out of your study time.

All from the comfort of your home…

What is Neurofeedback at home?

Neurofeedback is essentially brain training, and it is also referred to as neurofeedback therapy.

We supply the Neurofeedback system NeurOptimal® Australia-wide to make it easy for everyone to access at home.

It is a simple device that uses E.E.G sensors to help your brain & central nervous system learn more about how it functions.

Think about it like a mirror, where your brain can start to learn about itself for the first time.

The process is straightforward:

1. There are 5 sensors placed in the same positions on your scalp & ears each session. These observe your brain’s natural electrical activity.
2. The sensors relay that information to the computer program. The program then tells your brain what’s going on by interrupting music you are listening to.
3. You hear the interruption, and your brain interprets the break in the music as key information.
4. Your brain learns more with each session and can change itself in a very natural way without you needing to do anything.

Anyone can benefit. NeurOptimal® is in 84 countries and has been in use for 25 years, so it has helped many people worldwide who suffer from ADHD symptoms.

We Express Post our NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback Rental Kits with everything you need to do neurofeedback brain training at home minutes after receiving it!

Increase Your Learning Potential with NeurOptimal®

Learning isn’t just about how much time you put in.

It’s also about how well you can focus, process and adapt.

NeurOptimal® has helped our clients create the conditions for clearer, more effective learning.

This way you could get more from the time you spend studying!

Student completing a maths worksheet while studying for an exam

You can know the material and have put in all the hard work, but the stress of an exam can cause the mind to get ‘jammed up’ when you need to access that information most. This can make it difficult to think clearly and show what you actually know.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help by giving the brain information about what it is doing in real time. This can help tease out some of the edges of stress, allowing the brain to become more flexible and regulated rather than getting caught in the pressure of the moment.

Clients have reported feeling calmer and clearer under pressure, helping them access what they have learned and make better use of all the work they put in beforehand.

Student sleeping comfortably in bed, representing better sleep for study and learning

Sleep is important for your brain to function well and consolidate new information into longer-term memory. When you are studying, however, the stress and sheer volume of information you are taking in can sometimes disrupt your sleep, ironically making it harder for your brain to do this important work.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help by providing the brain with information about what it is doing in real time, supporting its ability to regulate itself and settle when it is time to rest.

Clients have reported experiencing deeper, more unbroken sleep and waking feeling more refreshed. Better quality sleep gives the brain the rest it needs to function well, process what you have learned and be ready to take in more.

Students studying together, representing feeling less overwhelmed while learning

Starting to learn a new topic or subject can sometimes feel debilitatingly overwhelming. The sheer volume of new information can create a sense of paralysis, which can become a barrier to actually starting and taking the information in.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help the brain become calmer and more regulated by giving it information about what it is doing in real time. With less overwhelm getting in the way, it can become easier to see the possibility and reality of breaking the learning down into smaller, more manageable pieces.

Clients have reported feeling less daunted by what is in front of them, making it easier to take the first step, work through things one piece at a time and keep moving forward.

Student studying with books and a laptop in a library

When you are learning a lot of new information, it isn’t always enough to simply remember individual facts. You may need to understand new concepts, recognise connections between theories and synthesise different pieces of information into a bigger picture. This can become difficult when the brain gets stuck or becomes inflexible in how it is processing what it is learning.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help the brain become more flexible by providing it with information about what it is doing in real time. This can support the brain’s natural ability to adapt and move between different pieces of information.

Clients have reported greater mental clarity when learning, making it easier to process new information, see connections and bring different ideas together.

Student raising his hand during a class while engaging with new information

If you have ever been certain that you know something but just can’t seem to get it out, it can feel like your brain is taking too long to look through the filing cabinet. You want a brain that feels calm but sharp, so you can recall information when you actually need it.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help by giving the brain information it didn’t have before, allowing it to self-organise and potentially clear some of the mental clutter that can get in the way.

Clients have reported feeling like information is easier to access when they need it, rather than having to search for it. This can make learning feel more useful because what you have taken in is more readily available to you.

Students discussing ideas at a blackboard to develop a deeper understanding

To truly understand something, you need the patience to sit with it and nourish the theories and questions that naturally come up, without constantly being pulled away by distraction. The brain needs space to be both calm and curious so it can explore an idea beyond simply remembering the facts.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help by giving the brain new information about what it is doing, which it can use to self-organise. As some of the mental clutter settles, clients have reported experiencing a clearer mind, with less ego getting in the way and more openness to different ideas.

This can create a better environment for questioning, exploring and making connections, allowing a deeper understanding of what you are learning to develop naturally.

Student studying at a desk with a laptop, representing mental stamina for longer study sessions

It takes a lot of effort to achieve something great. Day in, day out, you need to be able to focus and have a reservoir of mental stamina that you can continue to draw upon. Small stresses, distractions and irritations to your mental state can gradually drain this energy, leaving less available for the work that really matters.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help by giving the brain information it didn’t have before, allowing it to reorganise and process some of the smaller things that may be taking up mental space.

Clients have reported feeling like they have more mental capacity available, helping them work effectively for longer and continue applying themselves towards the higher goals they want to achieve.

Student enjoying reading and studying in a library

If you are not enjoying something, it can make it harder to stay engaged and take in what you are learning. Of course, you can’t enjoy everything, and the very nature of learning can sometimes be difficult or unpleasant. But when stress starts to dominate the experience, it can become harder to see why you are doing it in the first place.

NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help the brain become more regulated and release some of the stress and mental clutter that may be getting in the way. This can make it easier to see the forest through the trees and reconnect with the bigger picture.

Clients have reported naturally enjoying their learning more and being better able to access the fulfilment that can come from dedicating yourself to something.

Quick Questions...

Yes, you may find yourself able to study for longer periods without losing concentration or becoming mentally exhausted.

Improved focus and mental stamina can make it easier to stay engaged, work through difficult material and complete more study before needing a break.

Over time, these longer, more productive study sessions could compound, helping you develop a deeper understanding of complex subjects, retain more knowledge and achieve stronger academic results.

Some people find NeurOptimal® deeply relaxing and may feel a little sleepy after a session. If that’s your experience, you can simply schedule your training while winding down for bed.

Others report feeling more alert, refreshed and energised after their sessions.

Everyone responds differently, so you can adjust the timing of your sessions to suit how you feel and what works best with your study schedule.

NeurOptimal® may help improve your mental resilience and ability to maintain concentration for longer periods, making extended study sessions more manageable.

The real benefit is not just studying for more hours, but making those hours more productive. Over time, even small improvements in your ability to focus can add up to significantly more effective learning.

NeurOptimal® may help improve your ability to absorb, retain and recall information by reducing the impact of stress, poor sleep and mental fatigue on your memory.

This could mean remembering more of what you’ve studied, recalling information faster during exams and spending less time revisiting material you’ve already learned.

Over time, stronger recall and more effective learning can help you build knowledge more efficiently and approach exams with greater confidence.

Yes, you may notice positive changes in other parts of your life, not just your studies.

You might find yourself sleeping better, feeling less stressed, having more patience with people and finding it easier to switch off at the end of the day.

These changes can make everyday life feel more manageable, leaving you with more energy for friends, family, hobbies and the things you enjoy outside of studying.

NeurOptimal® may help improve your ability to absorb, retain and recall information, particularly if stress, poor sleep or mental fatigue are affecting your memory.

This could mean remembering more from lectures, retaining information between study sessions and recalling what you’ve learned more easily during exams.

While we can’t promise a specific improvement in your retention rate, even small changes could reduce the time you spend revising and help you get more out of your studies.

You may find it easier to stay organised, manage competing priorities and get through your day without feeling constantly overwhelmed.

Better focus and stress management could mean spending less time procrastinating, switching between tasks or worrying about everything you need to do.

This can make it easier to keep up with assignments, work and personal commitments, while still having time and energy for friends, exercise and relaxation.

Pascal Ting

“I rented a neurofeedback system for a prolonged period to help support me through major exams. My family also utilised it at the time as it was a highly stressful time for all of us. The system was helpful and allowed me to go through and pass with flying colours such that I am now living the life I want.”

“The results have been truly remarkable. My son’s attention and focus have significantly improved, and we’ve also noticed a substantial boost in his confidence. This positive change has had a profound impact on both his academic performance and his approach to everyday tasks. My son couldn’t be happier.”

We had the neurofeedback system for two months, and it was an incredible experience for my son. Initially, I had hired the machine for four weeks, but as we observed the very positive results, I decided to extend the treatment for another four weeks. Gema made the entire process incredibly easy and straightforward.

We are incredibly grateful for the care and support we’ve received throughout the process. Gema is exceptional who has been there for us every step of the way, answering all our questions and providing valuable guidance. I highly recommend Neurofeedback Rentals to anyone considering it.

Quick Questions...

The sensors monitor your brain’s electrical activity while NeurOptimal® provides real-time feedback through brief interruptions in the music you’re listening to.

This feedback gives your brain information it can use to adjust its activity, supporting its natural ability to self-regulate.

As concentration, sleep and stress management improve, you may find it easier to absorb new information, stay engaged with difficult subjects and recall what you’ve learned. It’s not teaching you the material, but potentially helping you create better conditions for learning.

Yes. You can use NeurOptimal® while taking ADHD medication.

Medication primarily affects the brain through chemical processes, such as changing the activity of neurotransmitters like dopamine and noradrenaline. NeurOptimal®, on the other hand, observes the brain’s electrical activity through EEG.

But these are not completely separate systems. Chemical signaling affects how neurons behave electrically, so medication can influence the collective electrical activity being observed during a session.

NeurOptimal® observes your brain activity as it is occurring at the time, so your medication forms part of your current brain state during a session.

Importantly, the underlying brain is still capable of learning and making changes while medication is present.

These changes are not necessarily dependent on the medication remaining in your system, so reducing or changing medication does not mean the brain simply returns to exactly where it started – meaning if you come off the medication your brain the time spent has not been wasted.

While using NeurOptimal®, if you begin to feel different or think your medication needs adjusting, speak with your prescribing doctor before making any changes.

We recommend checking with your prescribing health practitioner, before you use NeurOptimal®.

You can start by forwarding this link for the NeurOptimal® website to your practitioner for review. You can also encourage them to reach out to us directly on 0474 319 467.

If they need more information, we are happy to provide anything as required.

NeurOptimal® isn’t widely known in mainstream education, so it’s not surprising your lecturers haven’t mentioned it.

Most lecturers focus on teaching their subject rather than exploring alternative approaches to supporting concentration, stress management and learning.

We’re working to raise awareness of NeurOptimal® and its potential benefits. While some users report positive changes, research specifically demonstrating improved academic performance is still limited.

That’s where NeurOptimal® can be particularly appealing. You don’t need to identify exactly what’s holding you back before you start training.

Rather than targeting a specific problem, NeurOptimal® provides feedback based on your brain’s activity, supporting its natural ability to self-regulate.

Even if your exams are approaching and you’re already feeling behind, it’s still worth exploring ways to improve your focus and manage stress.

NeurOptimal® may help you feel calmer, concentrate more effectively and make better use of the study time you have left. Some people notice changes early, while others need more sessions.

You can’t recover lost study time, but improving how you manage the time remaining could help you prepare more effectively and approach your exams with greater confidence.

Yes. You don’t have to use NeurOptimal® perfectly or follow a strict schedule.

Each session is an opportunity for your brain to train, so you may still notice changes even if your sessions aren’t consistent.

Generally, consistent regular use gives you more opportunities to experience the benefits, but doing it a bit is better than not doing it at all!

Inconsistent sessions, unrealistic expectations and not allowing enough time for changes to develop can make it harder to get the most from your training.

Ongoing sleep deprivation, excessive stress and poor study habits can also work against the improvements you’re trying to achieve.

We recommend completing sessions 5–6 days per week, tracking your progress and maintaining healthy study routines. The aim is to give yourself the best opportunity to notice improvements and apply them to your learning.

You’ll start noticing that things which normally take effort begin to feel easier. You may feel calmer, think more clearly and find it easier to concentrate without constantly fighting distractions.

You might sit down and actually start studying instead of procrastinating, stay focused until a task is finished, or return to your work more easily after an interruption. Even a difficult assignment or approaching exam may feel less overwhelming.

Often, it’s these small changes in how you respond to everyday challenges that help you recognise your progress. Use our tracking sheets to see how these improvements build over time.

Managing Expectations...

The brain & nervous system are very complex structures.

We have had many people have a significant shift within the first few sessions.

Results for other clients take more time.

We encourage all clients to keep in mind that all worthwhile change takes time.

Neurofeedback is brain training and, like muscle training at the gym, it is a process.

Unlike the gym, NeurOptimal® training is fun and painless; so it is easier to stick with!

We are here to make it as simple as possible to reach a positive result.

Quick Questions...

In our experience, clients generally start noticing changes around sessions 13–20, although some notice improvements earlier.

These could include feeling less overwhelmed by exam pressure, concentrating for longer, getting through revision more efficiently and recalling information more easily.

If your exams are approaching, we recommend starting as soon as possible and completing sessions consistently. Results vary, so there’s no guarantee of improvements before your exams, but you’ll be giving yourself an opportunity to make better use of the study time you have left.

The best thing you can do is complete your sessions consistently. We recommend training 5–6 days per week, with 1–2 rest days.

Use our tracking sheets to become more aware of changes in your concentration, memory, stress levels and study stamina. This can help you recognise improvements early and make better use of them.

Getting enough sleep, taking regular study breaks and maintaining a sensible study routine will also support your learning. There’s no guaranteed way to speed up results, but these habits give you the best opportunity to benefit from your training.

Absolutely. If you’re enjoying NeurOptimal® and want more time with it, you can extend your rental.

Simply let us know before your rental finishes you can keep the system and continue your sessions without interruption.

Used consistently over the month, you could get through 20 sessions easily by completing 5-6 per week with 1-2 days rest.

If you want to do more, you can do two, back to back on each of those days.

We ship Australia-wide via Express Post, with most metropolitan deliveries arriving within 1–3 business days after dispatch. Regional areas may take a little longer, depending on your location and system availability.

Learning to use NeurOptimal® is straightforward and usually takes just a few minutes. We provide step-by-step instructions, and there’s no technical knowledge or complicated settings to learn.

You can start training as soon as your kit arrives, and your one-month rental period won’t begin until the following day.

In our experience, clients generally start noticing changes around sessions 13–20, although every brain responds differently.

For students, this could mean concentrating for longer, remembering more of what you’ve studied, spending less time procrastinating and feeling calmer under exam pressure.

We recommend starting with a one-month rental and tracking your progress. As these improvements build, you may find yourself getting more out of each study session and feeling better prepared for exams.

We recommend starting with a one-month rental. This gives you time to complete regular sessions, establish a routine and begin noticing changes in your concentration, memory and ability to manage study pressure.

If you’re preparing for exams, starting earlier gives you more time to train and apply any improvements to your revision.

You can extend at a discounted rate if you’d like more time, so there’s no need to commit to a longer rental upfront.

Quick Questions...

Yes, you can continue studying during your NeurOptimal® session, so you don’t have to sacrifice valuable study time. Each session takes just 33 minutes.

You can read, review notes, work on assignments or complete practice questions while training. There’s no need to concentrate on the neurofeedback itself.

This makes it easy to fit sessions into your existing study schedule, even when exams are approaching and every hour counts.

No, NeurOptimal® isn’t suitable for use during face-to-face tutoring, as you need to be able to hear the music and brief interruptions that provide feedback during each session.

You can still use NeurOptimal® alongside tutoring as part of your overall study routine. Simply complete your 33-minute sessions separately, when you’re studying independently or relaxing.

Not necessarily. You can multitask during your 33-minute NeurOptimal® sessions, so there’s no need to set aside extra time away from your studies.

You can review notes, read course material or work on assignments while listening to the training music. There’s nothing to learn, practise or concentrate on beyond your usual study activities.

This allows you to fit training into your existing routine without adding another major commitment to an already busy schedule.

We recommend for ease of use that you set it up in a fixed place upon arrival.

If you are sharing it between many family members, we recommend you purchase an art trolley from Kmart or Ikea. They are about $35 and make it easy to wheel around.

We agree, it does look complicated, but we promise it is not.

We provide a comprehensive setup guide, customised from our years of working knowledge and offer on the phone support to help you at any time.

We have never had any clients say they could not figure out how to use the system.

Some clients worry about the placement of the sensors on the head. So we provide photographs and video in our instruction manual to ensure you feel comfortable. The position of the head sensors also has a good range of tolerance (about the size of 50c piece) so we are confident that you will get it in the correct spot.

If you have concerns, please contact us directly for a full explanation of how the setup works.

No. The sensors stay in the same position for every session, and there are no settings or protocols for you to change.

Once you’re set up, you can simply start your session and let NeurOptimal® do the rest.

The price covers your NeurOptimal® system for the full rental period, delivery, insurance for theft and accidental breakage. Plus support if you need throughout your rental.

There are no additional session fees, so you can use the system as often as you like while you have it.

You can also add other users to the system too during the rental period.

No, you don’t need to understand neurofeedback or have any technical knowledge to use NeurOptimal®.

The system automatically monitors your brain activity and provides feedback through brief interruptions in the music. There’s nothing to analyse, interpret or consciously control.

Simply put on the sensors, start your session and continue studying or relaxing. The system takes care of the rest.

No, you can complete your sessions whenever they fit into your study schedule. There’s no need to train at the same time each day.

You might use it while reviewing notes in the morning, working on assignments in the afternoon or winding down in the evening.

Consistency matters more than timing. We recommend 5–6 sessions per week, but you have the flexibility to work around classes, exams and other commitments.
