Supporting someone with different needs can involve trying many different things.
You may be looking for something for your child, someone you care for…or yourself.
Something that may help with regulation, everyday functioning and quality of life.
NeurOptimal®, the neurofeedback system we supply, works with the brain rather than telling it what to do.
There is nothing to learn, practise or achieve during a session.
Instead, it gives the brain information about itself. The brain can then respond wherever it needs to.
This information is provided through simple interruptions to the music.
The brain remains in control of the whole process. All from the comfort of your home…
*Our NDIS rentals are paid by the participant or their family, but heavily discounted to be accessible at a reasonable price.
What is Neurofeedback at home?
Neurofeedback is essentially brain training, and it is also referred to as neurofeedback therapy.
We supply the Neurofeedback system NeurOptimal® Australia-wide to make it easy for everyone to access at home.
It is a simple device that uses E.E.G sensors to help your brain & central nervous system learn more about how it functions.
Think about it like a mirror, where your brain can start to learn about itself for the first time.
The process is straightforward:
1. There are 5 sensors placed in the same positions on your scalp & ears each session. These observe your brain’s natural electrical activity.
2. The sensors relay that information to the computer program. The program then tells your brain what’s going on by interrupting music you are listening to.
3. You hear the interruption, and your brain interprets the break in the music as key information.
4. Your brain learns more with each session and can change itself in a very natural way without you needing to do anything.
Anyone can benefit. NeurOptimal® is in 84 countries and has been in use for 25 years, so it has helped many people worldwide who suffer from ADHD symptoms.
We Express Post our NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback Rental Kits with everything you need to do neurofeedback brain training at home minutes after receiving it!
Work with your Brain using NeurOptimal®
The right support can make everyday life feel more manageable.
NeurOptimal® is an easy way to add brain training at home.
Small changes in regulation can have an impact across daily life.
Investing the time now could support meaningful change well into the future.
It can be discouraging when you or a loved one is putting in the work but struggling to make consistent progress. You may already have a whole team of supports in place, but sometimes it can still feel like every step forward takes a lot of effort.
NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help do a little of the heavy lifting by giving the brain information about how it is functioning in real time. As the brain self-organises and becomes more regulated, it may become easier to engage with and get more out of the other supports already in place.
We have had clients report consistent improvements throughout their rental period, with small changes gradually building on each other.
When one person in a household is having a difficult day, it can naturally affect everyone around them. The same can be true in the other direction. When each person is feeling a little calmer and more regulated, the whole household can begin to rise together.
With a NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback rental, the system can be used by the people you nominate, allowing more than one person in the household to benefit from the experience.
The changes don’t always need to be dramatic to matter. Small improvements in mood, regulation and how everyone responds to each other can build over time. Clients have reported calmer reactions and more enjoyable days together, helping the whole household move towards more good days becoming the norm.
A household can develop its own momentum. One difficult moment leads to another, stress builds throughout the day and before long everyone can feel on edge. Sometimes what you want most is simply for home to feel calmer again.
NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help interrupt some of this momentum by providing each person’s brain with information about how it is functioning in the moment.
Clients have reported fewer big reactions and a greater ability to recover after difficult moments, helping tension settle more quickly and creating a calmer atmosphere at home.
Connection is one of the best parts of life. Building the skills to connect with others can take time and patience, and often requires emotions to be regulated enough to listen, communicate and respond.
NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can help by giving the brain information it didn’t have before about how it is functioning, allowing it to self-organise and regulate.
Clients have reported feeling more connected to themselves and the people around them, helping create stronger connections with family over time.
NDIS goals are usually about making meaningful changes in everyday life. Building independence, participating more, developing skills or being better able to manage daily activities can all take time and consistent effort.
NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback can sit alongside the supports you already use by helping the brain become more flexible and better able to adapt to what is happening around it.
Clients have reported changes across different areas of daily life during their rental. These improvements may help support the broader work being done towards individual NDIS goals.
A good routine can make life much easier, but getting one established can be the difficult part. Distraction, changing moods, low motivation or unexpected moments can quickly throw the day off course.
NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback gives the brain information about its own activity in real time. This can support greater adaptability and make it easier to shift from one part of the day to the next.
Clients have reported finding everyday tasks easier to start and follow through with, helping routines gradually become more consistent and require less effort to maintain.
The support you put in place today can have an impact well beyond the time you are providing it. Building stronger foundations now gives you or your loved one more to build on as life changes and new challenges arise.
NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback provides the brain with information about itself, giving it repeated opportunities to learn, adapt and self-organise over time.
Investing in brain health now is an investment in the future. The progress made today can become the foundation for greater independence, capability and opportunity in the years ahead.
Your brain may have been through a lot. An injury, disability or years of additional demands can affect many parts of everyday life, from thinking and energy to emotions, sleep and concentration.
NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback looks at the brain as a whole. It provides real-time information about what the brain is doing, giving it an opportunity to adapt, self-organise and make its own adjustments.
Clients often come to NeurOptimal® focused on one challenge and notice changes in other areas too. Supporting overall brain function gives you a broader foundation to build from, whatever your individual goals may be.
Quick Questions...
But what if it made things better?
Yes, it’s a reasonable concern, particularly when you’re already managing a lot. Occasionally, clients have experienced emotions or feelings coming to the surface that may have been sitting just beneath it.
However, on balance, the changes our clients have experienced have been positive.
Many report improvements in emotional regulation, behaviour and everyday functioning, which can make life easier for everyone involved.
When everyday challenges become easier to manage, the impact can extend well beyond the original difficulty.
Even small improvements in sleep, emotional regulation, concentration or behaviour can lessen the daily burden.
As these improvements build, there may be more energy, patience and time available for other parts of life. Things that once felt difficult may become more manageable.
Over time, these changes can compound, improving relationships, family routines, independence and overall quality of life. The benefit isn’t necessarily one big change, but many smaller improvements that add up.
NeurOptimal® works by giving your child’s brain information it didn’t have before, allowing it to make changes in its own unique way.
Our type of neurofeedback doesn’t try to make your child’s brain like a neurotypical child’s brain.
It works with your child exactly where they are, mirroring back to their brain what is going on and supporting its natural ability to self-regulate.
Your child doesn’t need to explain how they’re feeling or communicate what’s going on for the training to take place.
Their brain receives the feedback and responds in its own way.

“My son has a genetic condition which affects him at a neurological level. When starting with NeurOptimal we were unaware of the cause of his severe developmental delays, but felt Neuralfeedback was important to try….Over the 2 years of use we noticed NeurOptimal help calm his mental state which in turn improved his sleep and helped him be more present in his physiotherapy and OT sessions. We saw him engage more in daily tasks and retain newly learned skills from his therapies.”
We have been renting a NeurOptimal system for my son on and off for the past 2 years from Gema at Neurofeedback Rentals.
My son has a genetic condition which affects him at a neurological level. When starting with NeurOptimal we were unaware of the cause of his severe developmental delays, but felt Neuralfeedback was important to try.
He has done 100s of sessions now and his development has improved dramatically. Although we can not scientifically present his improvements to correlate with Neurofeedback use, we definitely feel it helped him get to where he is now. Over the 2 years of use we noticed NeurOptimal help calm his mental state which in turn improved his sleep and helped him be more present in his physiotherapy and OT sessions. We saw him engage more in daily tasks and retain newly learned skills from his therapies.
We would recommend hiring a NeurOptimal system from Gema at Neurofeedback Rentals. Gema is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to make the experience as easy as possible.

“I began searching for something that could help my husband after he suffered a stroke in the enterocranial cerebellum…..On a personal note, I had lost confidence in driving after being in a serious accident. Since using Neuroptimal, I’ve slowly begun to regain my confidence. I’m back on the road, taking small steps forward each day, and feeling more hopeful….Gema is very kind, patient, and communicates clearly. She guided and taught us how to use the Neuroptimal system with care and compassion.”
Thank God. I’m incredibly grateful for Gema and the support she has provided through Neuroptimal. Gema is very kind, patient, and communicates clearly. She guided and taught us how to use the Neuroptimal system with care and compassion.
I began searching for something that could help my husband after he suffered a stroke in the enterocranial cerebellum. Since the stroke, he struggled with memory loss — he couldn’t remember much, not even my name. But since starting Neuroptimal, we’ve seen remarkable improvements. Not only has his cognitive function improved, but he’s even begun to recall memories from his childhood. It has helped bring back parts of who he was before the stroke.
Our relationship has grown stronger again — we laugh and smile together every day. It may not be perfect, but it’s real and full of hope. He now recognizes his favorite meals and, as a former chef, he’s even started cooking again — making his favorite pizza and pasta.
On a personal note, I had lost confidence in driving after being in a serious accident. I was terrified, especially of driving near large trucks. Alongside caring for my husband and dealing with my own health challenges—including being diagnosed with thyroid cancer—it felt overwhelming. But since using Neuroptimal, I’ve slowly begun to regain my confidence. I’m back on the road, taking small steps forward each day, and feeling more hopeful.
If you’re considering Neuroptimal, I truly encourage you to give it a try. Trust Gema—she is a warm, supportive, and knowledgeable person. Neuroptimal has helped our family in so many ways, and I’m so thankful we found it.
Never give up—there is hope and healing available. Thank you Gema and Neuro Optimal. C.C
Quick Questions...
It’s understandable to feel this way, particularly if you’ve already tried a lot of different approaches without seeing the improvements you’d hoped for.
NeurOptimal® works differently. It doesn’t require you to identify what’s wrong or work towards a particular outcome.
It simply provides your brain with information about what it’s doing, allowing it to respond and make adjustments in its own way.
We can’t guarantee what changes you’ll experience, but previous approaches not working doesn’t mean there’s no possibility for improvement. Sometimes a different approach can make a meaningful difference.
Yes. You can use NeurOptimal® while taking medication.
Medication primarily affects the brain through chemical processes, such as changing the activity of neurotransmitters like dopamine and noradrenaline. NeurOptimal®, on the other hand, observes the brain’s electrical activity through EEG.
But these are not completely separate systems. Chemical signaling affects how neurons behave electrically, so medication can influence the collective electrical activity being observed during a session.
NeurOptimal® observes your brain activity as it is occurring at the time, so your medication forms part of your current brain state during a session.
Importantly, the underlying brain is still capable of learning and making changes while medication is present.
These changes are not necessarily dependent on the medication remaining in your system, so reducing or changing medication does not mean the brain simply returns to exactly where it started – meaning if you come off the medication your brain the time spent has not been wasted.
While using NeurOptimal®, if you begin to feel different or think your medication needs adjusting, speak with your prescribing doctor before making any changes.
We recommend checking with your prescribing health practitioner, before you use NeurOptimal®.
You can start by forwarding this link for the NeurOptimal® website to your practitioner for review. You can also encourage them to reach out to us directly on 0474 319 467.
If they need more information, we are happy to provide anything as required.
It’s not too late to explore ways to support your child. The brain continues to learn and adapt throughout life, so opportunities for positive change aren’t limited to early childhood.
NeurOptimal® works with your child’s brain as it is today, providing feedback that supports its natural ability to self-regulate. It doesn’t matter whether your child is five, fifteen or an adult.
Your child doesn’t need to catch up to anyone else or reach a particular milestone. The aim is to support improvements in their everyday experience and quality of life, whatever their age or stage of development.
It’s a fair question, especially when you’ve already spent so much time researching different ways to support yourself or your child.
NeurOptimal® is an established neurofeedback system, but it’s still relatively unknown in Australia.
Much of its growth here has come through word of mouth, with practitioners often focused on meeting client demand rather than advertising.
It’s not a scam, but it’s also not a guaranteed solution. You’re welcome to ask us questions, learn how the system works and read about other families’ experiences before deciding whether it’s right for you.
Yes, NeurOptimal® can generally be used alongside the other therapies and supports you or your child are already receiving.
It doesn’t require you to stop existing therapies or change your current routine.
Whether you’re working with an occupational therapist, speech therapist, psychologist or other support provider, NeurOptimal® can be an additional part of your approach.
The aim is for these supports to work alongside each other, helping you build on the progress you’re already making.
If you have any concerns about combining therapies, you can discuss them with your existing support team.
The biggest thing that may slow your progress is inconsistent training. We recommend 5–6 NeurOptimal® sessions per week, with 1–2 rest days.
Building sessions into your regular routine can help you stay consistent.
We also recommend avoiding other brainwave-based technologies during your rental, such as Rife machines, binaural beats, Solfeggio frequencies or brainwave entrainment programs.
These conflict with what our system is trying to do in the brain.
You don’t need to change your other therapies or everyday activities. Focus on regular sessions, keep track of any changes and contact us if you have questions along the way.
You’ll usually notice changes in everyday life rather than feeling something specific during a session. These might include better sleep, calmer reactions, improved concentration or finding previously difficult situations easier to manage.
For children, you might notice fewer emotional outbursts, smoother transitions, greater flexibility or an improved ability to cope with everyday challenges. Sometimes other family members or support workers notice changes first.
Improvements can be gradual and easy to overlook when you’re busy managing daily life. That’s why we provide a tracking sheet to help you recognise the small changes that may add up to a meaningful difference over time.
You can use NeurOptimal® alongside support from a psychologist or therapist. Some people find that neurofeedback complements the work they are already doing.
How Many Sessions Do I Need?
A worldwide survey of all NeurOptimal® trainers was conducted to observe client results.

After 20 Sessions – 37% of People reported a 61-90% Improvement
Epilepsy After 20 Sessions
After 20 Sessions – 33% of People reported a 61-90% Improvement
Managing Expectations...
The brain & nervous system are very complex structures.
We have had many people have a significant shift within the first few sessions.
Results for other clients take more time.
We encourage all clients to keep in mind that all worthwhile change takes time.
Neurofeedback is brain training and, like muscle training at the gym, it is a process.
Unlike the gym, NeurOptimal® training is fun and painless; so it is easier to stick with!
We are here to make it as simple as possible to reach a positive result.
Quick Questions...
We send our NeurOptimal® rental kits Australia-wide via Express Post. Once dispatched, delivery generally takes 1–3 business days to most metropolitan areas, with regional locations sometimes taking a little longer.
Dispatch depends on kit availability, and we’ll confirm the expected timeframe when you book.
Your rental period starts the day after your kit arrives, so you won’t lose any training time while it’s in transit.
Consistency is the most important thing. We recommend completing 5–6 NeurOptimal® sessions per week, with 1–2 rest days. Building training into your daily routine makes it easier to stay on track, especially when family life is busy.
We also provide tracking sheets to help you monitor changes in sleep, mood, behaviour and everyday functioning. Small improvements can be easy to miss when you’re focused on managing daily challenges.
Use the tracking sheets regularly and keep your sessions consistent. Doing more sessions doesn’t necessarily mean faster results, but a steady routine gives you the best opportunity to recognise and build on progress.
Absolutely. If you’re enjoying NeurOptimal® and want more time with it, you can extend your rental.
Simply let us know before your rental finishes you can keep the system and continue your sessions without interruption.
In our experience, many clients begin noticing their first changes around sessions 13–20. Some notice shifts earlier, while others need more time.
The first signs might be better sleep, calmer reactions, improved concentration or finding everyday situations a little easier to manage. For children, these changes can sometimes be subtle, so it’s worth watching for small improvements.
We recommend 5–6 sessions per week, with 1–2 rest days. Everyone responds differently, so there’s no set number of sessions that guarantees a shift. Our tracking sheets can help you recognise progress along the way.
We recommend starting with a one-month rental. This gives you time to establish a regular training routine and begin observing any changes.
NDIS participants receive a flat discounted rental rate, so there’s no need to commit to a longer period upfront to access better pricing.
You can simply start with one month and extend progressively from there, based on the changes you’re noticing and what works best for your family.
We always recommend consistency over intensity. Completing 5–6 NeurOptimal® sessions per week, with 1–2 rest days, is a good starting point.
Once you’ve established a consistent routine, you can increase to two sessions per day if you or your child are responding well and it fits comfortably into your schedule.
More sessions don’t necessarily mean faster results. The priority is regular training at a pace that’s manageable for you and your family, rather than trying to fit in as many sessions as possible.

Quick Questions...
Not necessarily. NeurOptimal® sessions don’t require your child to concentrate, follow instructions or actively participate. They can watch a movie, read or simply relax while the training takes place.
We recommend making sessions part of an existing routine, such as screen time or quiet time, so they don’t feel like another task your child has to complete.
Each session takes 33 minutes, and many families find that once their child becomes familiar with the process, it becomes much easier to fit into everyday life. The aim is to make training manageable, not create another daily battle.
Neurofeedback was removed from the list of NDIS-funded supports as part of the NDIS reforms introduced in October 2024. This means NeurOptimal® home rentals must now be privately paid for rather than funded through your NDIS plan.
We understand this adds another expense for families who are already managing the costs of ongoing therapies and support.
To help make up for this change, we offer a reduced rental rate for current NDIS participants, making it more affordable to access NeurOptimal® at home.
Yes, your child can play on their device during a NeurOptimal® session. However, we recommend keeping this as a last resort and encouraging quieter activities where possible.
They can watch a movie, read, draw or simply relax while the training takes place. They don’t need to concentrate on the session, but they do need to wear the headphones and hear the music.
If the choice is between letting your child use their device or not completing the session at all, let them have the device. We’d rather help you maintain a consistent routine than create another struggle in your day.
We agree, it does look complicated, but we promise it is not.
We provide a comprehensive setup guide, customised from our years of working knowledge and offer on the phone support to help you at any time.
We have never had any clients say they could not figure out how to use the system.
Some clients worry about the placement of the sensors on the head. So we provide photographs and video in our instruction manual to ensure you feel comfortable. The position of the head sensors also has a good range of tolerance (about the size of 50c piece) so we are confident that you will get it in the correct spot.
If you have concerns, please contact us directly for a full explanation of how the setup works.
No. The sensors stay in the same position for every session, and there are no settings or protocols for you to change.
Once you’re set up, you can simply start your session and let NeurOptimal® do the rest.
The price covers your NeurOptimal® system for the full rental period, delivery, insurance for theft and accidental breakage. Plus support if you need throughout your rental.
There are no additional session fees, so you can use the system as often as you like while you have it.
You can also add other users to the system too during the rental period.
